Mary Rozell is an art lawyer and art historian with a master’s degree in German Expressionist art from the Courtauld Institute of Art. She is the Director of Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York and is a consultant to collectors, artists and estates.

Having lived in Berlin since 1992 where she worked as a curator of contemporary art and was the correspondent for The Art Newspaper from 1995-1999, Mary Rozell has special expertise in modern and contemporary German art. During her years in Berlin, she was the director of the International Studio Program for ACC Galerie Weimar Kulturstadt Europas, and an international markets consultant for Villa Grisebach Auctions. She also lectured on American art on behalf of the U.S. Embassy and lead specialized art tours for top international collectors.

Since returning to the New York in 2000, Mary Rozell served as Managing Director of Swiss Institute – Contemporary Art before becoming director of an expansive museum-caliber collection and associated family foundation.
